Twitter generated a lot of buzz when it announced it would be releasing a new analytics tool by the end of the year. The company is letting a few key users test the product in beta, and they will embark on a slow rollout of the product over the next few months.
Touted as the “Klout Killer”, the analytics tool from Twitter will offer more real-time information than many of its competitors, including Klout. The tool will also be able to track individual tweets and their influence, not just your “influence” on the social network. You’ll be able to see:
- Which tweets are retweeted
- Which tweets make you gain or lose followers
- How many times links within tweets get clicked on
They will also categorize tweets into “Good” “Best” and “All” categories.
The tool will also be more serious and valuable than many other Twitter analytics “tools” like Twitter BFFs and many others, and will be able to provide value past the superficial value that these provide. This tool can also be used to plan for the future. It also will help Twitter engage their users more, get people back to the original site, and decrease the use of third-party applications. But the best part? It’s free.
This twitter analytics tool will be a worthy addition to the Twitter mix, and if done right, will give their competition a run for their money.
