Cybersecurity company Rubrik focuses on Zero Trust Data Security to protect the data of many of the world’s largest organizations. Even the best infrastructure security tools may not do enough to keep data safe from bad actors, so Rubrik’s approach protects from all angles. Rubrik’s cloud data management and enterprise backup software platform provides backup, instant recovery, archival, search, analytics, compliance, and copy data management in one secure fabric across data centers and clouds.
Challenges
Rubrik came to us with a visibility problem. With paid search, organic and paid social, ABM, and email marketing efforts already in place, Rubrik still held a comparatively small share of voice in a very competitive category. In order to boost sales of their product, which has a very long sales cycle involving multiple touchpoints, they needed to increase their brand’s visibility among their target audience.
Rubrik knew their company website was not well optimized for search engines. They sought a partner who could build a long-term SEO strategy to increase their share of voice (SOV), online impressions, clicks, and CTR in order to boost brand awareness, drive more traffic to their website, and ultimately increase form fills from qualified leads.
Solutions
Rubrik’s initial SOV stood at 15,000 and the goal was to reach 90,000 by the following year. It was also aiming to secure ownership of 10 featured snippets in search engine results to establish thought leadership. To achieve these ambitious goals, Rubrik needed to create high-quality content, maintain their rankings in the top 3 positions of the SERPs for approximately 130 keywords, and optimize over 90 keywords and associated pages.
Globe Runner embarked on a multifaceted strategy to help Rubrik achieve its objectives. First, we initiated a campaign to optimize featured snippets. This involved updating content and implementing JSON-LD schema to secure nine featured snippets, with more in progress. This increased Rubrik’s brand visibility and authority significantly.
Dozens of new content pieces were created to engage the target audience and enhance SEO. Technical optimizations, content improvements, and link-building activities were employed to maintain over 130 keywords in the top 3 search positions, driving organic traffic and conversions.
For keyword optimization, Globe Runner optimized content to rank in the top 10 positions of search engine results, enhancing Rubrik’s visibility, boosting website traffic and increasing form submissions by 92% vs. the previous year.
